DECISIONS – PART 2

Seeing that decisions sum up the totality of your life, then we need to know what a decision really is.
A decision, according to the dictionary, is:

  1. The act of deciding
  2. A choice or judgment
  3. Firmness of conviction, etc.

From the above, decision means looking at the available options and choosing based on your conviction, meaning you must have considered the options and the resultant effect of each option before deciding on which one suits the outcome you desire.

However, a lot of people go through life without knowing or understanding that their life is a result of their decisions. My friends, not making decisions is sometimes worse than making a wrong decision because there is no vacuum in life. Someone or something somewhere is making decisions for you if you refuse to make any. It is like leaving your life to chance, and nobody can be blamed for the result except you. No vacuum in life means nothing happens in isolation. Everything is interconnected. There are external factors that have effects on other things. So if you will not consciously make informed decisions, you can be sure an external force will make one for you, and there is nothing you can do about the outcome.

Every day we make decisions:

  1. Small or sometimes insignificant decisions.
Note that what you call insignificant can have a very significant outcome or effect after many of such decisions. For example, what clothes you wear when going out. It may not really affect you whether you put on a type of clothing or not, but imagine going for an interview for a job course and you dressed shabbily. Of course, in the long run, it will have an effect on the outcome of the interview. Your dressing gives an impression in the mind of the interviewer and affects the decision whether to give you the job or not. You are bidding for a project, and you have the academic knowledge and may even have experience, but you dress anyhow, putting on slippers and looking unkempt, believing that your qualification and experience are all that matter. However, what they can see is an irresponsible person who will likely embezzle the funds or even produce substandard outcomes.

Even in the issue of the food that you eat, it is important to make the right decision, even though food can be said to be insignificant. But after some time, the effect of those small decisions will tell on your health and may likely destroy your life completely.
What about the decision on people you associate with? I just want to hang out with my mates and colleagues, but one such outing may lead you to a place of no return and a miserable life.

  1. Big decisions, life-changing decisions.
Most people actually take time when making these decisions, but sometimes they do not have the knowledge of all the outcomes that come with the available options. Some even become so careless as to say, “We will cross the bridge when we get there.” What is the assurance that there will be a bridge, and what is the state of that bridge? Some so-called decisions have become generational issues. A person or some people make decisions, and it continues to have an effect on generations yet unborn, irrespective of whether they are in agreement or not.

A lot of people, especially in our clime, are under generational hardship due to the decisions their forefathers made when they were not even born yet, their parents were not even there. We spend so much time and energy breaking such that we are also creating generational effects by the decisions we are making now. We are quick to judge our forefathers for joining forces with darkness to bring relief to their lives and entering into covenants which become binding on generations yet unborn, who have to suffer for them.

But you are also making the same decisions now that will bring untold hardship on your unborn children. We join groups, clubs, and enter into relationships. You, my friend, you are going all over looking for solutions to generational curses and covenants, while in actual fact you are creating another one, or recycling the old one by changing the package.

When you hear “new and improved product”, it’s likely the package that is changed and not the content inside. Sometimes the content is even increased. My friend, please make informed decisions and do not continue to recycle generational curses and covenants. You graduated from Harvard or any other prestigious institution yet cannot understand that the devil has repackaged and improved on his modus operandi, then you are unlearned. Stop and think, my friend.

  1. Eternal Decisions.
There are some decisions whose outcomes even follow you to the great beyond. Eternity means uncountable existence without end, infinite time. Heaven and hell are real. Some decisions you make here and now can determine where you will spend your eternity.

One Reply to “DECISIONS – PART 2”

  1. Quite scary if you deep it.
    – Making no decision is in itself a decision made.
    – Do not wait to get to the bridge before taking a decision to cross it. There might not be a bridge.

In all, we are the outcome of our choices and decisions.
