Our God is holy. He cannot behold sin. His holy nature will automatically destroy every unholy thing and its carrier that comes His way. He therefore demands holiness from all who approach Him, holiness in all things:
* In food, Exodus 22:31
* In what you touch , Leviticus 11:24
* In what you offer to Him
* In your house and abode
* In all your ways and your works
* In your conversation, 1 Peter 1:15; 2 Peter 3:2
The accuser of the brethren knows this, and he uses all his wiles (tricks or stratagems for deception) and gimmicks (devices used to achieve an end) to make you commit sin so that he can accuse you before God. Because of God’s holy nature, He cannot overlook sin. The devil has no power of his own; he knows this, so he works on you to make you give him the authority he needs to bring evil upon you.
SEPARATION: God separates and identifies His own through holiness. In Leviticus 20:7, the Bible says:
“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.”
Sanctification is the process by which a believer is made holy through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is often gradual and requires conscious effort on the part of the believer.
It is not humanly possible to be holy. Human nature does not have the ability to be completely obedient in all things that a holy God demands.
Psalm 24:3–5 says:
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”
Do you have these prerequisites, my brothers and sisters? God is described as the High and Lofty One, Isaiah 57:14.
Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:14–20:
“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.”
Then what is the way out?
The human nature cannot be holy until it is crucified. Colossians 1:21–22 says:
“And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.”
So what does it mean to be crucified? Jesus Christ, the sinless One who bore our sins, was executed by being nailed to the cross. He paid the price for our sins. Imagine yourself in Christ as He was nailed to the cross. You were supposed to be on that cross, but He took your place.
Therefore, you are dead. Galatians 2:20 makes it clear:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
You are no longer living your own life if you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior. As long as you are here on earth, you are living a surrendered life in Him.
So when you are tempted to commit sin, tell that nature it is dead. A dead person no longer lives and cannot respond to the pull of sin. Now it is Christ who lives in you, and it is His commands that you are expected to obey.
Friends, examine your life: are you still responding as one who is alive to sin or as one who is dead to it? Do not allow the death of Jesus Christ on the cross to be in vain in your life. He has given you the Holy Spirit to help you live a life that is pleasing unto Him.
Accept that help today. It is possible.
GOD DOES TALK WITH MAN
God Almighty is a Father, not like some fathers in the world, but a Father who delights in doing you good. He is described as the Double-Breasted One, the Abba Father. He has a close, loving, and trusting relationship with His children. This denotes an affectionate intimacy with respectful obedience, representing a profound confidence in Him as tender yet authoritative.
It is His utmost desire to communicate with you at all times. He wants you to know Him and hear His voice. It gives Him joy when His children hear His voice and obey. In John 10:1–5, Jesus was teaching and said:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.”
It is your responsibility as His sheep to identify His voice and follow Him.
There are many voices that speak, so it is important that you are able to identify His voice. Apart from God speaking, the devil and his agents also speak. Your own voice speaks, and other human beings also speak to you. In fact, situations and circumstances also speak. To recognize the voice of God takes practice. It is continuous, and you grow from one stage to another.
Below are some of the ways God speaks to us:
1. Through His Word
2. Through dreams
3. Through visions
4. Through prophets and other spiritual fathers
5. Directly to you in an audible voice
6. Through inner nudging
7. During prayer and other spiritual exercises
8. Through situations surrounding you, and so on
Now, the extent of your relationship with Him will determine how He speaks to you.
Hearing and recognizing His voice is progressive. His desire is that you hear Him yourself. In Ephesians 4:7–14, with special emphasis on verses 11–14:
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
No communication from God will contradict His Word. This is very important. To gain assurance that it is God speaking to you:
1. There must be confirmation in His Word. Any prophecy or word that does not have a basis in the Word of God needs to be examined thoroughly.
2. There may be confirmation from other sources, other people, situations, etc. The Bible says, “Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed” (Deuteronomy 17:6).
3. There is a peace that floods your heart when it is God, a peace that surpasses all understanding.
4. The devil also speaks and disguises himself as an angel of light. He may start with a word from the Bible to get your attention, but you need discernment to know, he may remove a part or introduced a lie. Therefore, you must master the voice of God and study His Word deeply so that you are not deceived. This must be done deliberately, as the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 9:25–27 and 2 Timothy 2:5.
5. It starts with small directives and instructions, and as you obey, you grow.
6. If you truly desire this, you can ask for His help. However, understand that your idea of help may differ from God’s. He may ask you to cut out certain things and take on others. Obey Him completely. You are on a journey that can only lead to your best life yet.
There is absolutely nothing that God cannot speak to you about if you have truly engaged in the process of growth.
Hearing God will save and keep you from diverse headaches and destructions. Purpose to hear His opinion on all things. Determine to obey that still, small voice.
He knows everything. He knows your end from your beginning. He knows every obstacle on your path, even if the road appears like a smooth six-lane expressway. He alone knows the wickedness in the heart of man, even when that person declares love with their mouth. The hidden agenda in man’s heart is clear to Him.
Have you been tossed to and fro? Has life or relationships become like a generational cycle of failure? Has all your effort felt like hitting a rock every time? Then lay aside all distractions and seek to know His voice.
God speaks at all times. He is not a talkative, but He speaks through diverse ways and means. Even the silence of God is speech. When it seems He is silent, He is still speaking.
Develop the habit of hearing Him, not only when you need something. He also has desires, even though He is God. Your fellowship with Him should not be based only on your needs. The Bible refers to Abraham as God’s friend. Do you think the word “friend” would have been used if Abraham approached God only to ask for a child every time? He related with God.
There is always a way that seems right to man. Ask Lot in Genesis 13:7–18 what followed is history. Yes, the grass may look greener on the other side, but it may be artificial turf that heats up when the sun rises.
When you become accustomed to His voice, you will not make unnecessary haste that leads to destruction. When He says move, you move. When He says stay, you stay. When you cannot hear His voice, do not take a step or make decisions.
He may lead you through rough paths, but be assured that the end of it will be for your good.

GOD IS NOT A MAN
In Numbers 23:19, the Bible says, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”
In understanding the nature of God as One who is not a man, I believe we should first look at who or what man is. A dictionary describes man as:
1. The genus Homo. A genus is a category in the classification of organisms, ranking below family and above species.
2. Humankind in general.
3. Furthermore, a man is described as an adult male, typically distinguished by XY chromosomes. This does not fully apply to our discussion because, in Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 5:2, when man was created in God’s image and likeness, he was created male and female. So, for our discussion, man includes both genders.
Now, let us look at the Word of God for the description of who man is:
* Man was formed from the dust of the ground, and God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Without God’s breath of life, man, being dust, does not become a living being. At that stage, he can be compared to an object made by a potter.
* Man is naturally inclined to disobedience (Genesis 3:11).
* Man is mortal (Job 4:17). Mortal means susceptible to death through aging, sickness, injury, or wounds. Man is fatally vulnerable; he is not immortal (Psalms 103:15).
* Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble (Job 14:1).
* Man at his best state is altogether vanity (Psalms 39:5; Psalms 144:4). Man is vain, futile, and limited.
* Man, even though in honor, does not abide; he is like the beasts that perish (Psalms 49:12). It is deeply troubling to see highly placed and wealthy individuals still engage in acts of great evil. A man who can afford anything money can buy may still commit terrible acts. Indeed, this is very pathetic.
* Proverbs 5:21–23 says, “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He pondereth all his goings…” Man is completely open before God; nothing is hidden.
* Man does not know his time. He is snared in evil times that can come suddenly (Ecclesiastes 9:12).
* Man’s way is not in himself; he cannot direct his own steps, no matter how great, rich, or famous (Jeremiah 10:23).
* Trusting in man leads to disappointment and destruction (Jeremiah 17:5).
* Man’s heart is unstable; it can waver like the waves of the sea.
Now, enough of this species called man. You become troubled when you reflect on how many times you have been disappointed by others, and also how you may have disappointed those who trusted in you. You are not wired to put your trust in someone with the same nature as you. Many people have harmed themselves, fallen into addictions, and even reached the point of suicide because someone they trusted failed them. That is the limitation of human nature.
Except for the man that God has worked upon. Psalms 8:4–9 outlines what God intended for man. Yet a man in honor who does not understand this will behave like a beast, without knowledge, dangerous, and uncivilized.
Now, who is God?
1. God was not created; He created all things.
2. God was not formed from dust.
3. God does not need breath; He is the giver of breath.
4. God does not fail.
5. God does not outsource power; He is the source of all power in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.
6. God knows all things.
7. God is not partial; He deals with all equally when they open themselves to Him.
8. God is love. Everything He does flows from love.
9. God does not lie. Whatever He says, He brings to pass. He has no need to repent or apologize.
10. God is not selfish. He does not withhold any good thing from His children when they are ready to receive it.
11. God does not condone sin. He does not hate the sinner but the sinful nature, and He provides a way out.
12. God is immortal. He cannot die or be destroyed. He lives from eternity to eternity.
13. God is all-knowing and controls times and seasons. He exists outside of time.
14. God is a righteous Judge. He is not biased; He sees all things, even the secrets of the heart. You may deceive man, but you cannot deceive God.
So, child of God, now that you understand the nature of man, you can bring all your impurities to your Maker. He is the Refiner, and He can refine your life.
When someone offends you and you feel like lashing out, remember: a man in honor who does not understand is like a beast without knowledge. When you feel like engaging in behavior that does not glorify God, stop and think deeply.
Is it in line with Psalms 8:4–9?
“What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour…”
You cannot allow any addiction to destroy the temple of the Lord, which you are. You were created in His image and likeness. The least you can do is allow that image to fully reflect in your life daily.
It is possible. Joseph refused to sin with Potiphar’s wife because, to him, it was a sin against God, not just against man.
Let God and the knowledge of Him govern your entire being.

YOU CAN ONLY BUT SUCCEED
GOD THE REFINER
There is always a time when every child of God will come in contact with His attribute as a Refiner. This is a very serious season in our lives, and without His refining fire at work in us, we cannot experience His fullness or attain a significant level in our relationship with Him.
Zechariah 13:9 says:
“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”
Until they pass through the refiner’s fire, God said:
1. He will answer them when they call upon His name.
2. He will identify them as His people.
3. They shall be able to say, “The LORD is my God.”
I want you to know that there is no refining without fire. Have you ever seen where gold and other metals are mined? You would rightly call it mud or dirt. At that stage, there is no beauty, no radiance, just impurity. It is then transported to the refinery where the real work begins.
At the point of mining, many other substances are mixed with the gold. Silver is often found alongside gold, sometimes embedded within the same ore. Though they originate together, they must be separated through intense refining processes.
So what happens in the refinery? Refining is the process of converting raw materials into valuable, usable, and high-purity products. It involves:
A. Separating complex mixtures
B. Removing impurities
C. Altering the structure to meet specific quality standards
Gold is refined through chemical, electrical, or heat-based processes:
* Aqua regia leaching dissolves gold using hydrochloric and nitric acids, then precipitates it into pure form.
* Electrolytic refining uses electric current to separate pure gold from impurities.
* Miller process melts gold and introduces chlorine gas to remove impurities quickly.
In petroleum refining:
* Distillation separates crude oil into fractions like gasoline, kerosene, and diesel.
* Cracking and reforming break down heavy molecules into lighter, more valuable ones.
* Treatment removes impurities like sulfur.
* Blending ensures the final product meets required standards.
In all these processes, the principle remains the same: the more intense the heat, the greater the purity; and the greater the purity, the higher the value and usefulness. As the saying goes, nothing good comes easy.
When the Divine Refiner begins His work, He first separates you from the crowd and takes you into His refinery. He begins by turning up the heat. At that point, it may feel as though your life is going in reverse. Things you once enjoyed begin to fade, and help seems to disappear.
Separation begins. Fair-weather friends fall away. Those who surrounded you because of what they could gain leave. Sometimes even family and close relationships withdraw. Just like crude oil is separated into its components, your life begins to undergo divine separation.
Then the searchlight is turned on your character. Under intense heat, you come face to face with yourself, the human nature, pride, arrogance, self-dependence, reliance on beauty, intellect, money. All these begin to fail. The heavy, low-value weights, the “little foxes that spoil the vine”begin to crack and break down.
You are brought to ground zero.
At that point, you realize that the only One you can cry to is the Refiner.
When you are fully surrendered, He begins to rebuild you. He takes what was stripped and begins to form something of higher value. He teaches you how those former impurities can become tools in His hand. He transforms your yielded life to reflect His divine nature.
Then He applies even more fire, to purify you further, to meet heavenly standards, to produce a life that burns clean and acceptable before Him. After this, He pours upon you His grace and weight of glory, making you a vessel of honor fit for the Master’s use.
At this stage, He is not afraid to send you anywhere because He knows you will represent Him well as an ambassador of His kingdom.
Many of us admire the anointing upon certain servants of God. We covet the grace upon their lives and assume they are simply favorites of God. You may say that, but it did not come cheaply. They have been through the refinery of heaven. They have endured the fire, the pressure, the process and they came out as pure gold.
Even among gold, there are different levels of purity, different carats. As the Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:20–21:
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
They are all vessels, but their use differs based on their level of refinement.
Where are you positioned? What is your assignment? Are you in the marketplace, in business, in the home raising the next generation, in the health sector, or in politics? Wherever you are, you can become a vessel of honor fit for God’s use and prepared for great works.
Before you begin to covet a greater anointing, before you embark on fasting for higher realms, understand this: you must pass through the heavenly refinery. You must be refined before you can carry that grace, before heaven can proclaim, “Hear ye him.”
Oh, what unstoppable grace will be released upon you.
It is possible. It is visible. But are you ready to let Him refine you, beloved?

Zechariah 13:9 says:
“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”
Until they pass through the refiner’s fire, God said:
1. He will answer them when they call upon His name.
2. He will identify them as His people.
3. They shall be able to say, “The LORD is my God.”
I want you to know that there is no refining without fire. Have you ever seen where gold and other metals are mined? You would rightly call it mud or dirt. At that stage, there is no beauty, no radiance, just impurity. It is then transported to the refinery where the real work begins.
At the point of mining, many other substances are mixed with the gold. Silver is often found alongside gold, sometimes embedded within the same ore. Though they originate together, they must be separated through intense refining processes.
So what happens in the refinery? Refining is the process of converting raw materials into valuable, usable, and high-purity products. It involves:
A. Separating complex mixtures
B. Removing impurities
C. Altering the structure to meet specific quality standards
Gold is refined through chemical, electrical, or heat-based processes:
* Aqua regia leaching dissolves gold using hydrochloric and nitric acids, then precipitates it into pure form.
* Electrolytic refining uses electric current to separate pure gold from impurities.
* Miller process melts gold and introduces chlorine gas to remove impurities quickly.
In petroleum refining:
* Distillation separates crude oil into fractions like gasoline, kerosene, and diesel.
* Cracking and reforming break down heavy molecules into lighter, more valuable ones.
* Treatment removes impurities like sulfur.
* Blending ensures the final product meets required standards.
In all these processes, the principle remains the same: the more intense the heat, the greater the purity; and the greater the purity, the higher the value and usefulness. As the saying goes, nothing good comes easy.
When the Divine Refiner begins His work, He first separates you from the crowd and takes you into His refinery. He begins by turning up the heat. At that point, it may feel as though your life is going in reverse. Things you once enjoyed begin to fade, and help seems to disappear.
Separation begins. Fair-weather friends fall away. Those who surrounded you because of what they could gain leave. Sometimes even family and close relationships withdraw. Just like crude oil is separated into its components, your life begins to undergo divine separation.
Then the searchlight is turned on your character. Under intense heat, you come face to face with yourself, the human nature, pride, arrogance, self-dependence, reliance on beauty, intellect, money. All these begin to fail. The heavy, low-value weights, the “little foxes that spoil the vine”begin to crack and break down.
You are brought to ground zero.
At that point, you realize that the only One you can cry to is the Refiner.
When you are fully surrendered, He begins to rebuild you. He takes what was stripped and begins to form something of higher value. He teaches you how those former impurities can become tools in His hand. He transforms your yielded life to reflect His divine nature.
Then He applies even more fire, to purify you further, to meet heavenly standards, to produce a life that burns clean and acceptable before Him. After this, He pours upon you His grace and weight of glory, making you a vessel of honor fit for the Master’s use.
At this stage, He is not afraid to send you anywhere because He knows you will represent Him well as an ambassador of His kingdom.
Many of us admire the anointing upon certain servants of God. We covet the grace upon their lives and assume they are simply favorites of God. You may say that, but it did not come cheaply. They have been through the refinery of heaven. They have endured the fire, the pressure, the process and they came out as pure gold.
Even among gold, there are different levels of purity, different carats. As the Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:20–21:
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
They are all vessels, but their use differs based on their level of refinement.
Where are you positioned? What is your assignment? Are you in the marketplace, in business, in the home raising the next generation, in the health sector, or in politics? Wherever you are, you can become a vessel of honor fit for God’s use and prepared for great works.

GOD CAN SEND ON AN ASSIGNMENT
Our God, who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them, desires that all men know Him and fulfill His counsel. He gave an assignment to the apostles and all believers through Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15, that we should go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. This is a vast assignment, considering the number of people in the world and the different geographical locations. The harvest is very ripe, especially now that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is near. Jesus even encouraged us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into His harvest.
We have many examples in the Bible of people whom God sent on assignment, and we will do well to learn from their lives:
1. Joseph was sent ahead to prepare the ground for the Israelites to come into Egypt so they would not perish in famine (Genesis 45:4–7). God sent Joseph ahead to preserve the seed of Abraham, with whom He had a covenant.
2. Moses in Exodus 3, God sent Moses for the deliverance of the Israelites in Egypt when the fullness of time had come. In verse 10, God told Moses that He was sending him to His people for their deliverance.
3. In Isaiah 6:8, God asked, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” This shows that God is always looking for people to send.
4. In Jeremiah 1:6–7, God said He had prepared Jeremiah from the womb and ordained him as a prophet to the nations.
5. In Matthew 9:38, Jesus, who was also sent by God, asked us to pray for more labourers to be sent into the harvest.
6. In 1 Kings 13, a man of God was sent to Bethel to deliver a message to Jeroboam.
All through the Bible and even now, God is still sending people on assignments. Every assignment is meant to reveal His glory and His love to His creation. Now, there are certain signatures, God’s imprint, that will be evident both in the one sent and in the assignment itself.
A. When God calls and sends, there is a procedure that must be followed.
It is not enough to receive the call; you must also tarry in God’s presence to receive the procedure, the step-by-step method for accomplishing the assignment. Yes, you may be educated, you may have seen others do something similar, but this is God’s assignment, and He alone knows the way to accomplish it.
The way He parted the Red Sea is different from how He parted the River Jordan, even though both are bodies of water. If we were to break down the wall of Jericho today, common sense would suggest using heavy machinery, but divine instruction was to march around it for seven days and shout. That is not learned in any university or ministry school.
God has specific procedures for every assignment, and they often differ. Do not assume. Do not copy. A way that seems right may not be right, it may lead to destruction.
B. When God sends, He provides for the assignment.
He gives grace, enablement, wisdom, and all necessary resources.
* He provides helpers (Exodus 31:1–5).
* He assigns angels (Exodus 32:14; Isaiah 63:9).
* He ensures that all resources are available.
Every assignment given by God is important, and He allocates heavenly support for it. However, He expects complete obedience. Be careful that these resources are not misused or redirected, it is dangerous.
Are you struggling where you are? Is it truly an assignment given by God or by man? You must confirm if you are sent. And if you are sure God sent you, did you receive the blueprint before moving ahead? Your intellect alone is too small to carry out a divine assignment. If you have the blueprint, then the resources will follow. Go back to Him and ask for everything needed to fulfill the assignment.
Please note: not everyone who appears active is sent by God. Some send themselves; others are driven by need. In Jeremiah 23:17–32, God warns about false prophets and the consequences of running without being sent.
Imagine being truly called, yet copying those who are not sent because you see what looks like success in their lives, what a catastrophe that would be. Be sure of your calling and wait on Him. It is not how long, but how well you fulfill your assignment that matters.
Jesus our Saviour was also sent. Isaiah 61:1 outlines His purpose. In the Gospels, He clearly acknowledged those God gave Him to help fulfill His mission. In Malachi 3:1, we are told that God would send a forerunner to prepare His way.
What an awesome God we serve. All you need is to tune in to His frequency.
You will never fail, in Jesus’ name.

GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD
Jealousy is a feeling of resentment, insecurity, or bitterness caused by the fear of losing someone or something to another or to a rival. It is also envy of another’s success, possessions, or advantage. It can also mean being protective or vigilant in guarding something or someone. This can be separated into three major sections:
Envy or resentment of another’s success
Possessiveness / suspicion
Vigilance, being watchful or protective
The Hebrew word translated jealousy is Qanna. This is an adjective used to describe God as jealous or zealous. Another derivative word from Qanna is Kinah, which denotes envy. Qanna / Qanah implies an intense burning passion or, in a positive sense, a protective, zealous, and loyal devotion.
Many passages in the Bible describe our God as a jealous God. This implies that God has an intense concern for the protective and exclusive loyalty of His children, rather than mere insecurity. Our God is not insecure. He has all power in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth, so He is not afraid of anyone or anything. Rather, He loves His children too much to watch them fall into the trap of the devil and his cohorts.
God is fiercely protective of His own. He will stop at nothing to make sure they are protected. He will spare nothing at all. In Epistle to the Hebrews 12:24, the Bible says that our God is a consuming fire. He will leave no stone unturned and spare nothing when it comes to the object of His love.
Have you ever seen or heard of a husband’s rage when he perceives that his wife is having an affair with another man, or when he senses that her heart is more favorably disposed toward another than toward him? In fact, in some cases it becomes so extreme that some husbands are even jealous of their own sons because the wife seems to care more for the son. One may argue that such jealousy is based on insecurity. But God is not insecure. He knows that if you continue to fraternize with the devil, it can only lead to your destruction.
Therefore, He has put some guards in place for you. You are not the only person in the world. God can afford to do without you, but the sacrifice of His only begotten Son is too great for Him to simply let you go. Because of that, He cannot tolerate certain things:
1. He cannot stand you having or worshipping another god.
Sometimes we are so disillusioned that we think idolatry only happens when someone builds a shrine or makes an image, or when someone stops going to church and begins to associate with gatherings of darkness. But having another god begins when you put anything ahead of God in your life.
What do you value most? Examine your heart right now. What occupies the number one position in it? Do you value your beauty, work, business, family, traditions, or even possessions such as houses, jewelry, or clothes more than Him?
Anything that occupies your life to the point that you cannot let it go at God’s command has become an idol to you. Even if it is something God Himself gave to you, He will not hesitate to remove it. You are to worship the Giver, not the gift.
2. God is a consuming fire.
He can consume anything or anyone in His anger. Yes, He is a loving Father, and He will destroy anything that threatens your well-being. Why then put your life and the lives of those around you in jeopardy? Order your priorities correctly and give Him His rightful place, which is number one.
3. God can be provoked to jealousy with strange gods.
This happens when people sacrifice to devils or hold something or someone so dear that their demands come before God’s commands. When you do this, you are sacrificing your relationship with God on the altar of their demands. Be warned.
4. God can also be provoked to jealousy with “high places.”
These may not necessarily be physical locations. They may be areas of your life where you decide that certain things cannot be touched or surrendered. Sometimes even your possessions can become altars of darkness or graven images that provoke God’s jealousy and His consuming anger.
When God’s rage is stirred, He can wipe things out completely, and His anger can last for a long time.
Yet, because His jealousy springs from love, He is always ready and willing to take you back if you realize your mistake and turn away from your wicked ways.
Prayerfully study the following scriptures and examine your life to ensure that you are not drawing the anger of God upon yourself. You will excel in Jesus’ name.

GOD THE I AM
Our God is the I AM THAT I AM. This was His response to Moses in Exodus 3:14 when Moses asked whom he should tell the Israelites had sent him. The Israelites had been in bondage in Egypt for over 400 years. God said to Moses, “I AM THAT I AM. Tell them I AM sent you.”
The Hebrew words translated as I AM THAT I AM are Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh. To me it means: I am who you want me to be. I do not need permission from anyone or from any power. I exist alone, absolutely and independently. I am all fullness. Who or what do you want me to be? I will be what I want to be. I cannot be challenged.
It is like having an open cheque already signed, just insert what you want there. He exists. This is awesome.
There are diverse people on earth and, as such, our desires, needs, and wants are also diverse. There is no way an individual, no matter how rich he is, can satisfy the whole human race. The challenges facing humanity are so many that it is impossible for all to be satisfied at once.
For an analogy, let us look at the moon. It orbits around the earth. When it appears in the east, it is different from when it reaches the west. When you look toward the east while the moon is in the west, you cannot see it. Does that mean the moon does not exist? No. It only means that at that particular time you cannot see it in the east.
This shows that there are always different challenges at different times for different people. Therefore, there is always the need for a Supreme God who has the ability to be in different places at the same time.
Our God is Omnipresent. He is at all places at all times, fully present with His entire being. He is universally accessible, unlike the moon that rotates. As such, no matter what your need is, He is able to meet it.
In addition to being present everywhere simultaneously, He has all power (Omnipotent) and knows all things (Omniscient). Think, dear friend: what is it that is out of God’s jurisdiction? He has the power to exercise all authority, the power to govern and to legislate. No one and nothing can stand against Him.
Wow! You have the whole power in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth backing you. Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh – I will be to you who you want me to be.
You see, God will not force Himself on you. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, is gentle. He waits for you to invite Him yourself. Yes, God has all power, but He created you in His own image and gave you a will.
Just like in Deuteronomy 30, He can only advise you to choose life, to choose blessing. But if you refuse, be ready to live with the consequences of your choice.
Further, in Proverbs 12:28, we are told that there is life in the way of righteousness, and there is no death in its path. There are no two ways about it. You either choose God or you have chosen Satan, for friendship with the world is automatically enmity with God (James 4:4).
When you choose Him, then He will be whatever you want Him to be. What is your challenge? He is able to bring it down before you.
Take quality time to seek His face in prayer and study His Word to know the things that are freely given to you. Then go with joy to draw water out of the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3; John 4:14).
Today Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is open to receive you, and He will be to you whatever you want Him to be.

GOD KEEPS COVENANT
Covenants in the Bible are binding relational agreements between God and man, and also between man and man. A covenant between God and humanity is designed to preserve and fulfill God’s redemptive plan. Simply put, it is an agreement to do or not to do a particular thing, a pact or binding agreement between two or more parties. It is a promise with conditions attached.
The first major covenant in the Bible is the Noahic covenant , the covenant between God and Noah after the flood. Though some believe there was an Adamic covenant, especially the prophecy that the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent and the serpent shall bruise His heel, that covenant is not as clearly structured because some formal terms are not stated explicitly.
In Genesis 6:18, we see God declaring that He would establish His covenant with Noah before the flood. In Genesis 7:5, the Bible records that Noah did according to all that God commanded him. Based on God’s covenant promise to Noah, the Bible says that God remembered Noah and every living thing in the ark, and He made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided (Genesis 8:1).
In Genesis 8:20, Noah offered a sacrifice, and the covenant was extended to all humanity. That covenant is still in existence today, and the token of the covenant was given by God , the rainbow (Genesis 9:12–17).
Let us now look at the elements of a covenant:
1. Cutting — signifying life and death.
2. Conditional or unconditional terms.
3. Structure — promises (terms or laws), blood, and a sign.
In the Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 17), we see the terms clearly:
1. The cutting of the covenant through the sacrifice of animals.
2. The token of the covenant, circumcision of every male child on the eighth day.
3. The structure of the promises found in verses 6–10:
> “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
> And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
> And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
> And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
> This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every male child among you shall be circumcised.”
There is also the Mosaic covenant, which God entered into with the children of Israel after they left Egypt under the leadership of Moses.
There is the Davidic covenant between God and David and his descendants. (God does enter into covenants with individuals.) This covenant culminated in our Savior Jesus Christ coming from the lineage of David.
Then we have the Messianic covenant, which brings us, the Gentiles, into the promise, being grafted into the Abrahamic covenant. We are the seed of Abraham by virtue of our relationship with Christ Jesus. This is described as the New Covenant.
This New Covenant is:
* A grace-based relationship between God and man established by the shed blood of Jesus.
* If you agree with its terms, God’s law is written in your heart, unlike the laws written on tablets of stone in the Mosaic covenant.
* Full forgiveness of sins.
* The indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
* Mediated by Jesus Christ and enacted through His death and resurrection.
* An internal transformation —God writes His laws in the heart and mind for true obedience through a transformed life.
* Complete and permanent forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus, unlike the continual animal sacrifices of the Mosaic covenant.
(See Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrews 8:8–13; Hebrews 12:24; Acts 2:1.)
As sweet and beautiful as God’s covenant with man is, people still go against His covenant and are disciplined, not because God is wicked, but because covenant terms and conditions have been violated. There are always repercussions. However, our God is merciful. We see Him intervening again and again when people realize their wrongdoing and turn back to Him.
He said in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
> “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Know this, beloved: just as God takes His covenant with humanity seriously, He also takes seriously the covenants man makes with man. This demands our attention.
Have you entered into an agreement with another person? Then you must diligently keep your part of the agreement. Better still, think carefully before entering into any agreement at all. Do not blindly enter into business partnerships, marriage covenants, or other binding commitments if you are not prepared to keep your part.
Do not say it does not matter. As a child of God, there is no major decision you should enter into without seeking His face and confirming that He is leading you. If you have even the smallest doubt, return to Him until you receive clarity. If you do not have His clear direction, do not proceed.
Read 2 Samuel 21:1–14. What a sobering story. The children of Israel disobeyed God’s command to wipe out the Amorites completely. Instead, they made a covenant with the Gibeonites and promised to spare them. Later, when Saul became king, he killed some of them in his zeal to gain favor with his people.
Did the Gibeonites cause the three years of famine during David’s reign? Yes. Did they withhold the rain? No. Who gives rain in its season? God. After the demands of justice were met, verse 14 says that God answered prayer on behalf of the land.
Notice also that David spared Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, because of the covenant he had made with Jonathan (verse 7). That covenant between David and Jonathan was described as the LORD’s oath, a covenant between two people.
Do not blindly enter into agreements. It is dangerous if you fail to fulfill your part. See what happened to Saul’s descendants; even innocent individuals suffered. Even Michal, Saul’s daughter, lost her sons. God is Judge, and His judgment is always right.

The first major covenant in the Bible is the Noahic covenant , the covenant between God and Noah after the flood. Though some believe there was an Adamic covenant, especially the prophecy that the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent and the serpent shall bruise His heel, that covenant is not as clearly structured because some formal terms are not stated explicitly.
In Genesis 6:18, we see God declaring that He would establish His covenant with Noah before the flood. In Genesis 7:5, the Bible records that Noah did according to all that God commanded him. Based on God’s covenant promise to Noah, the Bible says that God remembered Noah and every living thing in the ark, and He made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided (Genesis 8:1).
In Genesis 8:20, Noah offered a sacrifice, and the covenant was extended to all humanity. That covenant is still in existence today, and the token of the covenant was given by God , the rainbow (Genesis 9:12–17).
Let us now look at the elements of a covenant:
1. Cutting — signifying life and death.
2. Conditional or unconditional terms.
3. Structure — promises (terms or laws), blood, and a sign.
In the Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 17), we see the terms clearly:
1. The cutting of the covenant through the sacrifice of animals.
2. The token of the covenant, circumcision of every male child on the eighth day.
3. The structure of the promises found in verses 6–10:
> “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
> And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
> And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
> And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
> This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every male child among you shall be circumcised.”
There is also the Mosaic covenant, which God entered into with the children of Israel after they left Egypt under the leadership of Moses.
There is the Davidic covenant between God and David and his descendants. (God does enter into covenants with individuals.) This covenant culminated in our Savior Jesus Christ coming from the lineage of David.
Then we have the Messianic covenant, which brings us, the Gentiles, into the promise, being grafted into the Abrahamic covenant. We are the seed of Abraham by virtue of our relationship with Christ Jesus. This is described as the New Covenant.
This New Covenant is:
* A grace-based relationship between God and man established by the shed blood of Jesus.
* If you agree with its terms, God’s law is written in your heart, unlike the laws written on tablets of stone in the Mosaic covenant.
* Full forgiveness of sins.
* The indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
* Mediated by Jesus Christ and enacted through His death and resurrection.
* An internal transformation —God writes His laws in the heart and mind for true obedience through a transformed life.
* Complete and permanent forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus, unlike the continual animal sacrifices of the Mosaic covenant.
(See Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrews 8:8–13; Hebrews 12:24; Acts 2:1.)
As sweet and beautiful as God’s covenant with man is, people still go against His covenant and are disciplined, not because God is wicked, but because covenant terms and conditions have been violated. There are always repercussions. However, our God is merciful. We see Him intervening again and again when people realize their wrongdoing and turn back to Him.
He said in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
> “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Know this, beloved: just as God takes His covenant with humanity seriously, He also takes seriously the covenants man makes with man. This demands our attention.
Have you entered into an agreement with another person? Then you must diligently keep your part of the agreement. Better still, think carefully before entering into any agreement at all. Do not blindly enter into business partnerships, marriage covenants, or other binding commitments if you are not prepared to keep your part.
Do not say it does not matter. As a child of God, there is no major decision you should enter into without seeking His face and confirming that He is leading you. If you have even the smallest doubt, return to Him until you receive clarity. If you do not have His clear direction, do not proceed.
Read 2 Samuel 21:1–14. What a sobering story. The children of Israel disobeyed God’s command to wipe out the Amorites completely. Instead, they made a covenant with the Gibeonites and promised to spare them. Later, when Saul became king, he killed some of them in his zeal to gain favor with his people.
Did the Gibeonites cause the three years of famine during David’s reign? Yes. Did they withhold the rain? No. Who gives rain in its season? God. After the demands of justice were met, verse 14 says that God answered prayer on behalf of the land.

GOD SEES ALL THINGS
Our God is omnipresent. He is everywhere simultaneously. He is ever-present, and in addition, He is omnipotent — all-powerful — and omniscient — all-knowing. There is no situation or place hidden from Him. He sees all and knows all. That is why His judgments are true altogether (Psalm 19:9). Because He sees all things, even the secrets in your heart that no one else sees or knows, He will not, like man, be unjust in His judgment.
You cannot hide anything from Him.
Sometimes, when we see repercussions that come upon an individual, we tend to believe, though secretly in our hearts, that God has not judged well. We forget that human nature is so deceitful that it only presents what it wants you to see. Moreover, a person’s heart is not open to you, so you do not know the wickedness that may be operating there.
In 2 Chronicles 25:1–2, Amaziah, the son of Joash, became king after the death of his father at the age of twenty-five, and his reign lasted twenty-five years. In verse 2, the Bible says he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart. If human beings were to score Amaziah, he did well. He passed. His name might even have been written among the country’s most successful kings. You see, all we can see as humans is what is displayed before us. But God measures what is in the heart.
You can deceive man, but you cannot deceive God. He does not judge based on outward show or appearance. As long as you continue to present a deceptive front, you will find it difficult to see God move in your life. God is not deceived. You may gather all evidence, and anyone who hears you may believe you are right and that you have been treated unfairly. But the One who sees all things will always give you according to what you have sown, not according to what you want.
What is your motive?
This brings me to another attribute of God: He is a rewarder. He will reward you according to your deeds. What are you doing? What occupies your life? He rewards those who seek Him, who live for Him, and who obey His Word.
This is not merely about going to church, singing in the choir, or cleaning the house of God. All these activities are fruitless if your motive or the state of your heart is not right. It is possible to do good like Amaziah, but if your heart is not right, God will not reward you according to what you desire, but according to the hidden intentions of your heart.
1 Corinthians 13:1–3 makes this very clear. Yes, you can engage in spiritual gymnastics and speak in the tongues of men and angels, but without love, you are only making noise. You may prophesy mightily, understand mysteries, possess knowledge, and have faith that can move mountains, but without love, you have failed the test. Even if you give all you have to the poor and the less privileged, it does not move God if it is not done in love.
Examine yourself and the activities you are involved in. Are they done so that people may see how rich or powerful you are? Is it so that men will believe you are giving back to society, while love is absent from your heart? This does not move God. He sees your intentions and will reward you according to them.
Beloved, cleanse your heart. Prune your intentions. The human nature within you will always want to display pride and arrogance, deal with it. Evil thoughts and the gratification of the flesh will always try to rear their ugly heads in your heart, but bring them into subjection to the Word of God. Yes, you cannot stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can certainly prevent it from building a nest in your hair.
Bring every thought into obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
You are a mere human formed from dust. If not for God’s breath of life, you would be no different from other created things. All that you have has been given to you. See it as a privilege, not as proof that you are greater or more knowledgeable than others. There are people better and more knowledgeable than you who do not have the opportunities you have. If not for God, your situation might have been worse.
Our God sees and rewards according to His perfect knowledge. You cannot hide from Him. You may deceive men with sweet words, vast knowledge, innocent looks, and a gentle outward disposition, but not God. He sees, and He rewards accordingly.

GOD IS GRACIOUS
God Is Gracious
Our God is gracious, full of mercy, and delights in giving grace to His children. Grace is said to be a free and undeserved favor, a divine assistance given to humans by God. God is compassionate, magnanimous, and benevolent. He is favorable to His children. In Genesis 6:8, the Bible says that Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Psalm 116 says, “Gracious is the Lord and righteous; our God is merciful.”
Moses also found grace with God in Exodus 33:17. God decided to have mercy and answer his request because He said, “I know you by name.” If you read down to verse 23, God went above and beyond to answer Moses’ request. If God knows you, if He is certain of you, acquainted with you, has encountered you, and has experience with you (as people say now, you have a history together), if He understands you and has a grasp of you through experience, so that He is able to distinguish and discern you, this is not a one-off thing but something consistent.
Remember what God said about Abraham (Genesis 18:17). When you are known by God and He can consistently trust you, then He will be merciful to you. Are you consistent in your relationship with God? Can you be trusted to praise and worship Him when you receive a breakthrough in the same way you do when your prayer is not answered as you expected? Do you trust God in times of delay, or only when your requests are granted?
Be not deceived; God cannot be mocked. He sees your heart as well, even more clearly than what proceeds out of your mouth. When you have been tested and can be trusted, the Lord will become your Sun and Shield; He will give you His grace and glory. He will not withhold any good thing from you because you will walk uprightly in His sight (Psalm 84:11).
In Exodus 34:6–7, apart from being merciful and gracious, He is also longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth. He forgives your sins, iniquities, and transgressions. He is not holding a rod over your neck, waiting for you to sin; rather, He continues to hope that you will recognize your sins and turn from your wicked ways. That is why some think that God is slack in His dealings, whereas He is actually giving you time, hoping that you will repent.
You see, He cannot force you to do His will because He created you in His own image. This means you have a will, and He will stand by whatever you decide, even if it leads to your destruction, because you are a moral agent, that is, you have the capacity to choose between right and wrong.
So, to enjoy the mercy of God:
1. Develop a vibrant relationship with Him. Put Him first in your life at all times. Obey His Word and His directives.
2. Pursue righteousness. Protect and defend your right standing with God with integrity.
3. According to God’s command, love all and treat everyone with fairness and kindness, not just outwardly, but with a heart-level transformation through reliance on divine grace rather than mere self-effort.
4. Let your life reflect God and His Word so that people can “read” you at all times and thereby understand the nature of God.
5. Be consistent, in prayer, in studying the Word, in obedience, and in all things. Read Isaiah 30:18, Isaiah 55:7, and Romans 9:15.
It is God who determines whom to have mercy on and whom to have compassion on; therefore, it is Him who should be pleased, not man. Whatever man gives you will not last forever, and whatever the devil gives will always lead to destruction. He is evil and does not have the capacity to give good. It is only the gift of God that makes rich and adds no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22).
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need (Hebrews 4:16). This is an open invitation for you as well as for all who believe in Him. He has promised to pour out the Spirit of grace and supplication on all who look to Him.
